Local Immigrant Population*

15000

*Immigrant Population is an estimated sum of the number of naturalized Americans from this country and citizens from this country living in the Seattle Metro Area under any sort of immigration visa.  It does not count the American offspring or descendants of immigrants from this country, which can go back many generations and account for large numbers of people.  1,000 is the default number when we don’t have a better count.

Notes:

The Brits have been hanging around Seattle for a long time!  James Cook arrived in the PNW right after the Spanish in the 1780’s.  Since that time, several waves of British immigrants took residence in the Greater Seattle area.  The tech boom has been the most recent.  Victoria BC to the north is perhaps the most British city in North America.  Seattle would not be what it is today without the Brits.  Cheers!
