Local Immigrant Population*

3000

*Immigrant Population is an estimated sum of the number of naturalized Americans from this country and citizens from this country living in the Seattle Metro Area under any sort of immigration visa.  It does not count the American offspring or descendants of immigrants from this country, which can go back many generations and account for large numbers of people.  1,000 is the default number when we don’t have a better count.

Languages:

Spanish. More than 65 other languages are also spoken in Colombia.

Notes:

Over one million Colombian immigrants live in the United States.  Of those, a mere 3,000 live in the Seattle area although other reports indicate that as many as 10,000 Colombians may live in WA state.  That is a far cry from the one million Colombians who have chosen Florida to set roots.

Despite the much lower density of Colombians in this region, you should still have no problem getting a decent arepa at several Seattle restaurants.  At least one Seattle church maintains a mission in Colombia.  At first glance, Colombians in Seattle do not have a distinct, organized presence.
