Local Immigrant Population*

1000

*Immigrant Population is an estimated sum of the number of naturalized Americans from this country and citizens from this country living in the Seattle Metro Area under any sort of immigration visa.  It does not count the American offspring or descendants of immigrants from this country, which can go back many generations and account for large numbers of people.  1,000 is the default number when we don’t have a better count.

Immigration from New Zealand to Seattle grew after WWII and again during the tech boom.   You may not meet a Kiwi every day on the streets of Seattle, but they are here with several prominent hangouts revolving around the shared love of lager and sports.  Flights to New Zealand from Seatac International Airport require a minimum of two stops and 30 hours in the air, so maybe that’s why the Kiwis stick around:-)
