Local Immigrant Population*

1000

*Immigrant Population is an estimated sum of the number of naturalized Americans from this country and citizens from this country living in the Seattle Metro Area under any sort of immigration visa.  It does not count the American offspring or descendants of immigrants from this country, which can go back many generations and account for large numbers of people.  1,000 is the default number when we don’t have a better count.

Languages:

Spanish.

Notes:

Spaniards have been in the Pacific NW for 4 centuries if you count the earliest explorers dispatched by the Mediterranean nation in 1590.  Despite this early interest, Spanish immigration to the US has been historically modest, but picked up in the 1980’s.  The largest draw of Spaniards in Seattle since that time has likely been the tech industry.  Spaniards coming here will find company, including descendants of earlier Spanish immigrants.  A visit to the Spain Association of the NW will get you one step closer to experiencing Spanish cuisine, culture, and compatriots in Seattle.
